Ms, Kathy Gill
Seattle, Washington
United States
Bio:
I teach digital media at the University of Washington and blogs about technology and politics. My journey into the blogosphere started with a traditional journalism degree from the University of Georgia. After more than a decade of public affairs work, I followed the call of technology and became an IT contractor. In the late 90s, I taught tech students about communication; now I teach communication students about technology.
Research interests include technology adoption (innovation diffusion) and the impact of technology on communication (media, interpersonal, corporate) as well as politics. I presented papers dealing with these topics at WWW2005 in New York and WWW2006 in Tokyo. I also teach newbies how to ride motorcycles (MSF coach).
