Bio: Connecting people with information is a passion for me. Since earning my Master’s Degree in Library Science, I have done this in a variety of roles -- as a reference librarian, a lecturer at the University of Washington's Information School, and an indexer, taxonomist, and technical documentation specialist.

I started out twenty years ago creating indexes for printed software manuals, which lead me into running usability tests, developing online Help systems, and cobbling together my own tools to "single source" printed and online text back in the days before content management systems. More recently, I've worked as a taxonomist on the controlled vocabularies used to tag the thousands of dynamic content pages for images at Corbis and books at Amazon, to improve their customers' search experiences.

I spend a lot of time thinking about what makes information worth finding.
