Open Tech 2008

Session: No2ID and the Open Rights Group: State of the Nation
Description
Now that Tony Blair has taken time out to, among other things, learn how to use email, what does the future look like for campaigns which focus on the social impact of new technology? How far are we down the road to a database state, and how fast can we turn back? What designs do government and industry have on your internet connection, to "prevent terrorism", "save the record industry", or "save the children"? And would an opposition Government protect your bits any better?
