Session: M-Banking and M-Payments for Social Impact
Description
Is m-banking a force for poverty alleviation or economic growth particularly among the unbanked?
Secondly, can institutions, movements, and NGOs integrate m-banking or m-payments functions into their ongoing activities in ways which make them more productive or allow them to have greater social impact? Microfinance is the obvious example here, as is cash payments for humanitarian aid.
Workshop leaders will explore these topics in an interactive session with participants.
