This was a great session.......perhaps too short :-(. It provided amazing insight into what other countries term "BEST PRACTICE"!
Issue relevant to the development sector were highlighted with censorship and intimidation regading the use of Mobile Technology made us realise just how much we have to thank our democracy for!
The COMMITMENT of Service Providers is really something that ICT Advocacy groups need to QUANTIFY for advocacy purposes. For years we have been lobbying the three main service providers to subsidise calls made with mobile phones to our National AIDS Helpline and Gender Violence Hotline to no avail. We all know what the agenda is....BOTTOM LINE PROFITS!
