Session: Innovations in Mobile Social Marketing
Description
Persuasion and social marketing is a key objective of many public interest efforts - ranging from advocacy campaigns to public health messaging.
This workshop will explore how to think more innovatively about social marketing using cell phones. Using the example of socialtxt, a service that uses call-back USSD messages for promoting social causes, we will discuss how the widespread use of callback messages spurred some creative thinking about how to harness them for social messages. We'll also brainstorm and explore other ides for using innovations in using mobiles in social campaigns.
