Several Middle East markets are launching ETFs this year, as the region embraces passive investing as an exciting and effective investment strategy.

Globally, both institutional groups and private investors are increasingly reassessing the importance of ETFs with regards to achieving both their short as well as long term investment goals.

Whether it is equities, Sharia’h compliant companies, fixed income or commodities, ETFs have taken the investment community by storm, with over 1,100 ETFs listed in the US, Latin America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa. Last year 459 new ETFs were launched globally. Now it’s the Middle East’s turn.
