The Applied Criminology Centre is a multidisciplinary centre dedicated to bridging the gaps between academic research and practice. The University of Huddersfield is set in the picturesque countryside of West Yorkshire . It is only a small journey away to the scenic locations of the breathtakingly beautiful Yorkshire Dales and the Peak District.

Those presenting papers and attending the conference will include academics, researchers, teachers and students of criminology, criminal justice, security and crime related fields of study along with a range of practitioners in criminal justice and related areas such as youth justice, probation officers, the legal profession, the police and prison service.

The programme will reflect the broad range of current debates and controversies within the field of criminology. The ethos of the conference will be on how to translate criminological knowledge and research into policy options that can make a real difference to people's lives.

The conference will begin with lunch followed by a plenary session on Wednesday 9 th July and will run until lunch time on Friday 11 th . There will be a conference dinner on the Thursday evening.
