In tandem with the rapid expansion of Saudi Arabia’s private sector, the country’s printing industry is also growing at a fast-paced 15% a year. Almost half of Saudi Arabia’s purchasing power is now accounted for by the private sector. Add to this a population set to increase by several million in the Saudi capital Riyadh alone over the next few years, and it becomes evident that demand for printing-related equipment, products and machinery is set to continue soaring in Saudi Arabia for years to come. Sales of all conceivable kinds of leading-edge print products and technology are rising. One of the key drivers of Saudi Arabia’s print industry – in particular the pre-press sector – has been a growing emphasis on print-related sophistication. As the industry evolves at breathtaking speed, increasingly well-off clients in Saudi Arabia are placing ever-greater emphasis on design and variety. Consequently, sales for graphics hardware and software, image-setters and colour proofing systems are skyrocketing. Manufacturers of pre-press equipment and products are struggling to keep up with demand.
